Writing for the sake of writing
Not everything one writes has to be for clout.
Sometimes people do things just because they feel like it.
And sometimes you might want to do something out of the ordinary, just to feel something different.
Imagine walking through a park and seeing monkey bars, sometimes you just get the urge to use them.1 Or running three flights of stairs instead of walking them like a sane person, just to stretch and use the muscles you've got while you still have them.
The same could be said about writing2, setting time aside to flex your thinking muscles and let your mind wander, letting it roam and giving yourself the opportunity to use five-dollar words like parsimonious, be munificent with words, even if it's ephemeral.
Most of what I see online are just self-promotional puff pieces on social networks pretending to be business related, but that small sliver of posts that are more for the author's sanity rather than the readers' pleasure, hats off to you!
Of course, the irony isn't lost on me3, but maybe it'll strike a chord with someone.
You never know the effect you might have on someone, not really.
